The following rating is applied by the CSSC Platform:
- To encourage all positive initiatives and recognize opportunities for evolution and improvement, rather than judging and measuring successes or failures, all initiatives in favor of diversity were valued. Except for initiatives considered as “high-impact initiatives”, which were scored at 2 points, all “Yes” answers are scored at 1 point. “No” responses are scored “0”, but the addition of explanations on the reasons for “No” received 0.5 points. For “Yes” answers requiring additional explanations, the insertion of these explanations was also scored at 0.5 points.
- Questions on the number of different cultural origins/religions/geographical groups and their representation within a company’s human resources were scored in exact correspondence with the numerical value provided in response, divided by the number of countries in which the company operates for reasons of fairness (e.g., 3 different cultural origins in one country = 3 points; 5 different cultural origins in 5 different countries = 1 point; 7 different cultural origins in 2 countries = 3.5 points; and so on). The question on the number of countries in which the company operates is, of course, not considered per se in the scoring.
- Questions requiring the indication of investment amounts (estimated or not) and percentages were treated separately:
- The platform integrates these investment amounts into the rating via additional questions relating to the percentage of such investments in relation to the company’s sales figures. At the same time, precise information on the amounts invested is made visible in the report for each company as such, and a ranking of companies of the same size according to the estimated total amount of investment is also provided.
- Percentages have been included in the rating methodology as follows:
- We considered that, to be significant, measures in favor of employee diversity should reach a minimum of 20% of employees. For questions concerning the percentage of employees benefiting from certain measures, the numerical value provided in response is therefore converted into a number of points multiplied by 0.05 (if 10% = 0.5 points; 20% = 1 point; and so on).
- As to the percentage of sales corresponding to the investment made: the numerical value supplied in response is converted into a number of points (if 1% = 1 point; 2% = 2 points; and so on).
- As to the percentage increase in financial investment compared with the previous year and considering that the main objective is to encourage companies to progress and increase their awareness of cultural diversity, the numerical value provided in response is converted into a number of points multiplied by 2 (if 1% = 2 points; 2% = 4 points; and so on).
